Castrol Rustilo®150
Description
Castrol Rustilo®150 is a dark hazy brown fluid, consisting of a solution of organometallic
rust inhibitors in a hydrocarbon solvent. When dry, it leaves a pale brown, tough, plastic-like
film that is water repellent.
Application
Castrol Rustilo®150 is a heavy-duty corrosion preventive, designed for applications where
a high degree of protection is required under severe conditions. It is particularly suitable for
the protection of steel structures and components during storage or transit.
Benefits and Qualities
- Film possesses good mechanical strength. Treated components can be handled
without disturbing the film. Special storage conditions not necessary.
- Water-repellent film. Withstands severe conditions.
Health, Safety & Environment
Castrol Rustilo® 150 is flammable. Store in a flammable goods area. Keep container tightly closed. Store away from strong oxidising agents (i.e. Class 5.1 or 5.2). Use in a well ventilated area away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Skin and eye irritant. When handling, PVC or nitrile protective clothing is recommended. Also chemical goggles or face shield if needed to protect eyes.
Spillage: SMALL — 20 LITRES OR LESS Soak up on Castrol Diatomaceous Earth or similar inert oil absorbent. Arrange for disposal through an approved facility. LARGE — GREATER THAN 20 LITRES Contain as soon as possible, remove by best means available and arrange recycling (preferred) or disposal through an approved facility.
Disposal: New or used mineral oils, or solvent must not be allowed to enter the ground, ground water, water courses, sewers or drainage systems. Advice may be sought from the Environmental Protection Authority or from the local waste disposal authority.
