КО-822

It is a suspension of pigments in a solution of polyorganosiloxane resin.

Stand in water and corrosive gas environments.

Purpose and scope

Enamel KO-822 is designed for painting without the preliminary priming of metal products, long-term operation at temperatures up to 500 ° C.

The substrate material is steel, titanium, aluminum and its alloys.

KO-822 has excellent heat resistance, moisture and mushroom resistance; in addition, it has good dielectric properties.

Surface preparation

Surface before coloring is degreased (mixed organic solvents).

Cleaning of rust, scale, remains of the old paint is done manually or mechanically to St3 or shot-blasting (sandblasting) method to the extent of Sa2 — Sa2.5 according to the international standard ISO 8501-1: 1988.

In case the previously applied coating is durable, without corrosion damage and the percentage of its destruction is less than 20, it is necessary to use partial processing (in the places where there is no coating, by grasping the adjacent areas by 15-20 cm around the perimeter) to St3.

In case the old (previously applied) coating has a thickness of more than 0.5 μm or it has been destroyed more than 20% before painting, this coating must be removed completely.

Application

Enamel KO-822 is delivered ready for use. Mix thoroughly before use. If necessary, it can be diluted with xylene or toluene.

Enamel can be applied in factory and field conditions at temperatures from -30 to + 40 ° C and humidity up to 80%.

The enamel prepared for work is applied with a paint spray gun (pneumatic or airless) in two cross-sections.

When spraying, the diameter of the nozzle should be 1.8 — 2.5 mm.

The distance from the nozzle of the paint sprayer to the surface to be painted should be 200-300 mm, depending on the air pressure and the nozzle diameter.

The first layer is applied no later than 24 hours (if the product is in the room) and 6 hours (if outdoors) after surface preparation.

Sharp corners and welded seams before the beginning of the overall coloring paint with a brush or roller and allow to dry.

Metallic surfaces are painted in 2-3 cross-layers with intermediate drying between the layers «to tread».

If painting is carried out at low temperatures, it is necessary to ensure that the temperature of the surface to be painted is 3 ° above the dew point temperature; If necessary, the surface is blown with warm air.

The time of interlayer and final drying at negative temperatures is significantly increased.

Working tools and equipment after work are washed with xylene, toluene, or mixed solvents based on aromatic hydrocarbons.

Safety precautions

When working with enamel, it is necessary to comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

All work must be carried out with a working supply and exhaust ventilation. Unsuitable for use paintwork materials, waste, contaminated rags should be collected in special fireproof containers, taken out and destroyed in specially designated places.
