VNII NP-260 grease
VNIINP-260 lubricant differs significantly from the other two gyroscopic lubricants: VNIINP-223 and VNIINP-228 in that it is prepared with MS-20 residual oil. Because of this, it has worse frost resistance. At the same time, its maximum temperature limit of use reaches 180 ° C. Grease has a low strength at 80 ° C. Therefore, we do not recommend its use in poorly sealed friction units at high temperatures. GOST 19832-87 specifies that VNIINP-260 grease can be used at temperatures up to -50 ° C. Thanks to the manufacture of MS-20 heavy oil, grease can be used in a deep vacuum.
Lubrication VNIINP-260 is designed for speeds up to 60 thousand rpm. Its advantages include a longer service life than other gyroscopic lubricants. Tested on the stand «Hysteresis» at 150 ° C, it worked 10 times longer than the lubricant VNIINP-223. Bench tests for this lubricant are carried out on products of the IAV type for 5 cycles (1000 h) and type KH 90 (400 h).
